What age of driver can hire your cars?

All drivers must be between the ages of 25 and 72, the cars have age restrictions set by our insurer.

Is insurance included?

A Fully Comprehensive insurance package is included in our hire fee per car. However, Non UK residents with foreign licenses and drivers with motoring convictions and previous claims will incur extra charges to the prices in the tariff for each vehicle.

Can the hire be shared between drivers?

Yes but they MUST be added to the insurance as well, which we can do for £40, by bringing their photo card driving licence and DVLA check code at the time of hire or in advance. Strictly no other person may drive the car as they will not be insured.​

Can I take the car out of Scotland?

Our cars must be kept within Scotland and a rough outline of your journey must be given before you take the vehicle.​

 

Do I have to pay for the fuel?

Yes you pay for the fuel you use. The car will be provided with a full tank of fuel, and should be returned with a full tank of Super Unleaded.

What do I need to bring with me?

Documents to be provided before hire can commence for all named drivers.
UK Driving licence and DVLA check code.

In addition, passport and proof of accommodation in UK is required.If upon delivery these documents have not been made available the hire will be cancelled and our cancellation policy will apply.

 

What happens if I am late returning the car?

Returning the car late will incur a cost of £30 per half hour, as it may delay the hire for the next customer.​

 

Am I allowed to smoke in the car?

‘Smoking and the use of ‘E’ cigarettes is expressly forbidden and will result in the loss of your Security Bond, smoking in the car with the window wound down will still leave cigarette smells as well as damaging the upholstery and will result in the loss of your Security Bond. This is due to some customers refusing to hire the car subsequently if they detect the odour. We suggest you walk away from the vehicle and allow 5 minutes before getting back into the car after smoking.

 

Can I leave my car at your premises?

You can leave your car at our premises for the duration of your hire at your own risk.

 

Why do I have to pay a deposit?

The pre-authorised deposit is held against any damage incurred on the car during the hire, but it does not leave your own bank account, and it will be released by us through the card machine and further receipt given on the day you return the car if there is no damage.​​

 

Can I hire for longer than a week?

Hires for longer than a week can be organised, often at discounted prices. Please enquire for further information.​
